Close Incident

During the course of approving an incident, there may be times that the incident does not justify starting an investigation or there could be duplicate incidents. The user can close an incident if the permissions are available (See Manage Role Based Security). The closing of an incident will be during the initial approval process and cannot be done after the investigation is put into an In Progress status.

Use the following steps to close an incident:

  1. Click the Close Incident button
  2. Select the reason the incident is closed. The user can select from the following in the drop down list:
  3. Denied - Basis Incorrect
  4. Report Issued
  5. Closed
  6. No Investigation Needed
  7. Duplicate
  8. Click OK

The Record Details will show the Incident Status based on what the user selected.

Re-Open an Incident

The user must have the permissions to re-open a closed incident.

To re-open an incident click on the ReOpen Incident button in the Record Details. The incident will go back into the approval phase.
