Chemicals

Investigator allows entering information relative to any chemical that was involved in the Incident in the Chemicals tab. These chemicals could have attributed to the cause of the Incident or could have been released due to the Incident.

The Chemical library, a list of all chemical involved in the processes of the location will be found in the Chemical drop down. The list of chemicals are set up in the Administration>Selections and must be set up by the User with the appropriate permissions.

Add Chemicals

The Chemicals screen allows the user capture specific chemicals and quantities released in an incident.

  1. Click the Chemicals tab
  2. Select a chemical from the drop-down or by typing in the field, the chemical information will be displayed. This is configured in Administration>Selections
  3. Include any other related information including:
  • Chemical Discharge to Air – The quantity of the chemical that was released to air. Select the unit of measurement from the drop-down list.
  • Chemical Discharge to Water - The quantity of the chemical that was released to water. Select the unit of measurement from the drop-down list.
  • Chemical Discharge to Ground - The quantity of the chemical that was released to ground. Select the unit of measurement from the drop-down list.
  • Threshold Quantity – The threshold quantity of the selected chemical. Select the unit of measurement from the drop-down list.
  • Weight (%) (Toxics Only) – The weight percent of a toxic chemical involved in the release.
  • Duration – The amount of time or quantity of which the chemical was released. Select the unit of measurement from the drop-down list.
  • Duration – The amount of time or quantity of which the chemical was released. Select the unit of measurement from the drop-down list.
  • Amount Recovered – The quantity of the chemical that was recovered. Select the unit of measurement from the drop-down list.
  • Comments – Include any other comments not covered in the provided fields.
  1. Click Add

  2. User can edit or delete this chemical using the provided buttons.
