Attachments
To add an attachment in Risk Assessor for items such as drawings, documents, pictures follow these steps:
Add Attachments
- To add an attachment, click on the Attachments tab.
- Give the Attachment a Descriptive Name
- Using the radio buttons, select either URL or File. The URL can be www.google.com no longer is it required to have http://. If the File radio button is selected the Select files will be active. Click on the Select Files and a browse window will open. Browse to the file you wish to attachment click open. The file is listed under the Select Files button.
It is advised that the user do not put a space prior to the URL address as this will cause an error.
- If the user so desires, they can add a Category by using the drop down and selecting a pre-defined Attachment Category. The Attachment Category is part of the Selections library and can be set up in Administration. If drawings are used for the risk assessment it is strongly recommended that a category of drawing be selected.
- Click Add to add the attachment to the record. The attachment name will be in the grid. The user may edit the attachment name only.
The grid consists of the Attachment Name, Location and Category.
Edit Attachments
There are only two fields that can be edited in Attachments and those are the attachment name and the attachment category. To edit the attachment follow these steps:
- From the grid, select the attachment to modify and click the Edit button.
- When the user clicks the Edit button, the Add button will be changed to an Update button and a Cancel button will be displayed.
Modify the Attachment Name

Using the drop down, select an attachment category.

Click Update, the attachment will be updated in the grid.

Click Cancel to reset the fields. The Add button will return.
Delete Attachments To delete an attachment do the following:
On the attachment the user wishes to delete, click the delete button. This is located to the right of the Edit button. A confirmation message will be displayed. Click OK if the user wants to continue with the delete. If the user does not want to delete the attachment click Cancel. When the user clicks OK the attachment will be deleted from the record.
