Startup Approval

The final approval prior to startup is assigned to the User with the 'Can-Be-Supervisor' token and will be displayed in My Assignments. The user will click on the link to access the MOC record. The user will then click the Startup Approval in the workflow. It is generated after:

  • All PSSR Items ‘Required for Start-up’ are closed and the step is completed.
  • All Action Items are closed and the step is completed.

The Startup Approval is configurable in the workflow and can be added to a custom workflow. To set up custom workflows see your Account Manager or Implementation Consultant. A Startup Approval can be added multiple times and assigned to multiple personnel. A Description for the Startup Approval can also be configured based on the MOC Process implemented for the company.

To approve the Startup follow these steps:

  1. Click on the Startup Approval in the workflow.
  2. The User may change the Target Approval Date.
  3. The User may change the Assigned To
  4. Description is a configurable field based on the Company's MOC Process
  5. Using the drop down select the Approval Status
  6. Enter the Closure Comments if the approval status selected is Denied after Review
  7. Click Save
  8. Click Complete Step

Denied after Review (MOC Only) - this status is chosen by the Responsible Person in the location after the Evaluation is completed and it is decided that the MOC/REC should not be implemented. Choosing this status closes the MOC/REC and it cannot be reopened.

  • All Action Items are closed and the step is completed
  • The User with the 'Can-Be-Supervisor' token approves the MOC.
  • There are additional closure Items or Post-Start-up Action Items still open.

The status of the MOC is promoted to ‘Completed’ when:

  • All PSSR Items are closed with the step completed and there are no closure Items open.
  • All Action Items are closed and the step is completed.
  • There are no Post-Start-up Action Items assigned to the MOC.
  • The User with the 'Can-Be-Supervisor' token approves the MOC.
